Afrrient Auto is looking for a Driver to drive and operate trucks, trailers and semi-trailers.  The role also provides an efficient collection and delivery service thereby supporting the operations of the Afrirent Auto Division; and performs general housekeeping duties in accordance with Occupational Health and Safety Procedures

Key Responsibilities:

• Drives and operates trucks including the shunting of trucks to the workshop and parking area in accordance with approved standard operating procedures  
• Hooks and unhooks semi-trailers 
• Takes trailers for certificate of fitness (COF)  
• Undertakes all business-related collections and deliveries such as collecting and delivering parts and consumables 
• Completes all required documentation and information such as trip sheets, time sheets and log-books according to approved Afrirent procedures 
• Follows the Road Traffic Act rules and regulations and approved routes at all times 
• Identifies and reports on risks, obstacles and hazards 
• Conducts pre-inspections and checks the roadworthiness of the trucks and trailers before driving each day  
• Reports damages or faults to company vehicles to the Depot Manager 
• Adheres strictly to Afrirent’s hygiene code of conduct 
• Adheres to all Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) policies and standards  
• Implements effective and hygienic housekeeping at all times 
• Completes job cards and log sheets as per company policy and procedures 
• Performs ancillary duties as determined by management on an ongoing basis 
• Completes basis administrative functions and fills in administrative documentation at the testing grounds
