Ba-Phalaborwa Golf Club is looking for an experienced and commercially driven General Manager to lead the overall strategic, financial, commercial and operational management of the Club.
This is a senior leadership role for an individual who can combine hospitality excellence, business acumen, people leadership and a passion for golf to position the Club as a leading golf, leisure, hospitality, events and community destination in Limpopo and the greater Bushveld region.
The successful candidate will be accountable for the Club’s performance, guest experience, reputation, operational standards, revenue growth and long-term financial sustainability.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the overall day-to-day operations of the Golf Club and its hospitality, leisure and events functions.
- Develop and implement strategies to drive revenue, profitability, membership growth and business development.
- Prepare and manage annual operating and capital budgets, monitor financial performance and control costs.
- Monitor key financial and operational KPIs and provide regular reports to Head Office.
- Ensure exceptional service standards and a memorable experience for members, visitors, corporate clients, tourists and guests.
- Build strong relationships with members, guests, corporate clients, stakeholders and the local community.
- Oversee food and beverage operations, stock control, cash handling and cost management.
- Drive and oversee weddings, corporate functions, themed events and other revenue-generating activities.
- Identify and implement new commercial opportunities, promotions and initiatives to attract and retain members and guests.
- Lead, coach and develop a high-performing team across the Club.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, hygiene and operational standards.
- Develop and maintain effective SOPs and ensure consistent service delivery across all areas.
- Monitor customer feedback and ensure queries and complaints are addressed professionally and promptly.
- Work closely with Head Office and relevant stakeholders to achieve the Club’s strategic and financial objectives.
