About the Opportunity
Afrirent Holdings Group is seeking a highly experienced, commercially driven and results-oriented General Manager – Afritracker to lead and oversee its vehicle tracking and telematics operations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for driving the strategic direction, operational excellence, business growth and overall performance of the Afritracker division.

This position requires a dynamic leader with extensive experience in the vehicle tracking and telematics industry, strong technical expertise, exceptional business acumen and a proven ability to manage high-performing teams while delivering outstanding customer service.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Business Growth

• Develop and execute the division's telematics strategy in alignment with the Group's overall business objectives.
• Identify new business opportunities, market trends and emerging technologies to drive sustainable growth.
• Monitor competitor activity and market developments to maintain a competitive advantage.
• Drive revenue growth, operational efficiency and continuous business improvement.
• Develop and implement operational policies, procedures and strategic initiatives.

Operational Management

• Provide overall leadership and direction for daily vehicle tracking and telematics operations.
• Oversee tracking system installations, technical operations and service delivery.
• Ensure compliance with customer contracts, service level agreements (SLAs) and operational standards.
• Evaluate and approve new tracking technologies, products and system implementations.
• Monitor operational performance, identify inefficiencies and implement corrective measures.
• Ensure effective stock management, resource allocation and operational risk mitigation.

Commercial & Financial Management

• Develop and manage departmental budgets, ensuring financial sustainability and cost efficiency.
• Monitor revenue targets, expenditure and overall divisional financial performance.
• Identify opportunities to enhance profitability and expand the customer base.
• Provide strategic input into commercial decisions, customer solutions and business development initiatives.

Client & Stakeholder Relationship Management

• Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, suppliers and strategic business partners.
• Oversee key accounts and ensure exceptional customer satisfaction and retention.
• Manage escalated customer queries and ensure timely resolution.
• Identify opportunities to expand existing customer relationships and introduce innovative telematics solutions.
• Represent the business at relevant industry engagements and stakeholder meetings.

Governance, Compliance & Reporting

• Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations, internal governance requirements and quality management standards.
• Oversee operational reporting, performance analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide management with accurate operational insights.
• Drive compliance with internal and external ISO audit requirements.

People Leadership & Development

• Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing operational and management team.
• Establish clear performance expectations and drive accountability across the division.
• Oversee performance management, talent development and succession planning.
• Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, operational excellence and customer-centric service.
