Description
Afrirent (Pty) Ltd is looking for a Fleet Performance Analyst who will be responsible for analysing fleet utilisation, vehicle downtime, operational efficiency, telematics data, maintenance trends and cost drivers across leasing, managed maintenance and municipal contracts. The incumbent will generate actionable business intelligence through the development of dashboards, SLA reporting, variance analysis, predictive modelling and performance metrics to support operational, tactical and strategic decision-making.
The role is responsible for identifying opportunities to improve fleet performance, optimise asset utilisation, enhance maintenance planning, reduce operating costs and support asset lifecycle management. Through the provision of accurate data analysis and performance insights, the Fleet Performance Analyst will contribute to improved service delivery, operational efficiency, profitability and the long-term sustainability of the business.
Fleet Performance and Utilisation Analytics
Analyse telematics, maintenance, downtime and utilisation data
Identify inefficiencies, high-cost trends and recurring breakdown patterns
Perform lifecycle cost analysis and cost-per-km modelling
Recommend fleet utilisation adjustments and operational improvements
Advise Contracts and Maintenance teams on performance gaps
Conduct variance analysis against budget and contract targets
Dashboard Development, SLA Reporting and Client Reviews
Builds and maintains Power BI dashboards (utilisation, downtime, fuel, tyres, SLA KPIs)
Compiles monthly SLA performance reports per contract
Supports Exco and client reviews with visual insights
Maintains reporting templates and improves dashboard automation
Compiles and submits accurate and consistent reports across all contracts
Predictive Modelling, Forecasting and Strategic Insight
Develops predictive models for downtime risk and cost forecasting
Forecasts vehicle replacement cycles
Conducts scenario modelling for tenders and contract renewals
Recommends redeployment, disposal or refurbishment decisions
Supports lifecycle optimisation strategies
Data Governance, Validation and Reconciliation
Creates and monitors alignment across FleetDomain, AfriTracker and maintenance/fuel logs
Conducts mileage and billing reconciliations
Validates system data integrity
Flags anomalies and escalates issues
Assists in system user training where required
Supports compliance with internal data governance standards
Education Requirements
National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Fleet Management / Logistics / Transport / Operations
Bachelor’s Degree (NQF Level 7) in Commerce / Industrial Engineering / Data Analytics will be advantageous
Experience
3 – 5 years’ experience in fleet analytics / telematics analysis / transport operations
Previous experience in fleet leasing reporting will be advantageous
