Afrirent Holdings Stands in Solidarity with JRA Anti-Corruption Initiative

Johannesburg, 05 February 2024 – Afrirent Mobility extends its full support to the Johannesburg Road Agency (JRA) in their commendable efforts to combat corruption.

The JRA, responsible for the maintenance and development of the road infrastructure in the city, has embarked on a rebranding initiative to strengthen its commitment to transparency, accountability, and ethical practices.

The unveiling of the rebranded JRA fleet took place on Friday, February 2, 2024, at the Asphalt Plant, in Booysens. With a strategic focus on improving fleet visibility achieved through the deployment of newly branded vehicles, the organisation aims to discourage officials from engaging in corrupt practices that could tarnish JRA’s reputation, prevent unauthorised individuals from impersonating municipal employees or officials and reduce the risk of accidents by making other road users aware of the vehicles.

As a trusted partner to the JRA, since May 2023, Afrirent Mobility is proud to play a role in this transformative journey. The delivery of these rebranded vehicles marked the commencement of the contractual obligations for JRA.

The collaboration between Afrirent and JRA through the provision of non-specialised vehicles on a full maintenance lease and fleet support services on managed maintenance, aims to assist JRA in maintaining a reliable and efficient fleet, aligned with their renewed focus on integrity and good governance.

‘’Afrirent Mobility has been a player in vehicle leasing for the last 20 years. We are proud to be part of the journey that the city has embarked on, which is their fleet renewal program. We find ourselves in a collaborative partnership, enabling the city with mobility which allows them to focus on service delivery. Our value proposition includes a cradle-to-grave approach, that involves sourcing, managing repairs, tracking and disposal management,” Junaid Ebrahim, Executive: Operations at Afrirent Holdings.
