Description

Afrirent Holdings (Pty) Ltd is looking for a Group Legal Advisor who will provide an integrated legal, risk and compliance function and service. This involves:

  • • Reporting to Afrirent Group’s Head of Legal and Compliance.
    • The provision of proactive, sound, effective and professional legal advice, legal support, legal opinions and legal documentation / contract drafting to ensure that legally informed and compliant decisions are taken and implemented and managing litigation and disputes for and on behalf of Afrirent.
    • Assisting with the developing and implementing the overall Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) function, responding appropriately to company / group-wide risks that may impact on the achievement of Afrirent’s strategic objectives and ensuring that the correct risk governance processes and tools are implemented
    • The provision of compliance services and activities to ensure that Afrirent complies with all relevant statutory and regulatory requirements.
    • Supervising and mentoring of legal interns/junior members of the legal and compliance team.

Education Requirements

  • LLB Degree or equivalent.
  • Admission as an Attorney / Advocate.
    Experience in corporate and commercial, contracts and litigation will be advantageous.
  • Registration with the LPC or relevant professional body (non-practising acceptable).

Experience

  • 2-5 years’ experience in Practice / Legal Counsel / Legal Advisor in the public or private sector.
    Previous exposure to corporate/commercial/contracts/risk and/or compliance.
