Mpumalanga, South Africa, December 2024 -The Tsabedze Family Foundation, will be embarking on its annual Christmas drive in Mpumalanga, the hometown of Afrirent Holdings’ Chairman, Senzo Tsabedze and CEO Thenjiwe Tsabedze.
In the heart of Mpumalanga, a province plagued by poverty and inequality, the Tsabedze Family Foundation aims to empower individuals and communities in need.
This year, the Christmas drive will take place on the 15th of December 2024 and will see the distribution of food, clothing, medical supplies, Christmas needs and schooling needs such as stationery to families in the Engonini and Mboyi Sawulo communities.
The impact goes far beyond a single event as the foundation also supports ten university students annually, and has to date supported a cumulative 30 students through tertiary studies, covering their academic fees, accommodation, and other necessary expenses.
The Tsabedze Foundation supports students in the field of financial markets literacy through study areas such as accounting science, economics and finance for the critical role they play in the development of South Africa. The foundation also support those in Information Technology to venture into the digital economy, medicine for those students who have chosen to dedicate their careers to the welfare of humanity and psychology, in recognising the importance of mental health in society.
“We believe that every individual deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential,” said Senzo Tsabedze, Chairman of Afrirent Holdings and the Tsabedze Family Foundation. “Our mission is to empower those in need and to inspire a sense of hope and possibility in the communities we serve.”
Tsabedze says the foundation’s impact is palpable, as Students who have benefitted from their scholarship program have gone on to become employable candidates in their respective fields of study , creating positive change in their communities and inspiring others to believe in the power of hard work.
As the Tsabedze Family Foundation continues to spread hope and empowerment throughout Mpumalanga, they remain committed to their core values of caring, Ubuntu, and a deep-seated belief in the potential of every individual.
The Foundation estimates that it impacts about 100 families annually.
