Afrirent Holdings, a leading fleet management and logistics company, is proud to announce it has been awarded the contract to provide vehicles for the upcoming G20 Summit in November 2025. This landmark achievement cements Afrirent’s position as a trusted partner in delivering world-class mobility solutions for high-profile international events in Africa.
Under this contract, Afrirent will supply approximately 400 vehicles, comprising both luxury models and other transport solutions, to the Department of Transport as part of South Africa’s presidency of the G20. These vehicles will be used by visiting Heads of State and their delegations during the summit. The service period will extend beyond the two days of the summit itself, with operations beginning five days prior to the event and concluding five days after the summit wraps up.
Thenjiwe Tsabedze, CEO of Afrirent says, “We are quite proud of this milestone in our growth trajectory. Supplying over 400 vehicles for an event of this magnitude is not just another project to us — it is a powerful opportunity to showcase Afrirent’s capability on the global stage and contribute to the standing of our country among its global peers.”
Afrirent’s fleet will include vehicles from prestigious Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) such as BMW and GWM, reflecting the company’s commitment to offering quality, safety and comfort. In delivering this contract, Afrirent is also working with three SMMEs across key areas including vehicle supply (cars and buses) and chauffeur services, reinforcing its dedication to inclusive economic growth.
This G20 engagement builds on Afrirent’s proven track record of successfully supporting major national and international events, including the Presidential Inauguration in 2024, the BRICS Summit in 2023, the African Union Men’s Conference in 2023, and the State of the Nation Addresses (SONA) in 2024 and 2025.
“The scale of this project requires us to expand our operational capacity across vehicle sourcing, preparation and logistics coordination — a challenge that demonstrates Afrirent’s strength in managing complex and premium service levels,” adds Tsabedze. “We see this as an opportunity not only to contribute to the success of the G20 Summit but also to solidify our position as an industry leader that delivers excellence.”
Afrirent’s team for this contract will comprise its internal staff, supplemented by outsourced personnel and professional drivers, ensuring smooth execution and impeccable service throughout the summit.
